Yukon

We left Dease Lake this morning and are now in the Yukon - our third Canadian Province. Along the way we stopped at Boya Lake and managed to get in a hike and lakeside lunch before the rains came.

Trail to the Beaver Dam

First stop in the Yukon was the Visitor Center at Watson Lake to stock up on Yukon info. Don's "planning center" in the van is now overflowing with brochures and maps and he is working hard at turning the normal 3 day drive (from Watson Lake) to Alaska into a 9 day expedition. We've already heard about a place that makes sourdough cinnamon buns that only requires a slight detour - food is always a great excuse to Take The Long Way.

In front of the Visitor Center is the Sign Post Forest - over 78,000 signs left by visitors from all over the world. Alas, we had nothing to mark our passing - maybe next time?

  1. Can I send you a NC tag from here in case you pass back thru there on your way back South?
